Who we are
The Plum Village Porto Sangha is a community of practice in the tradition of Zen Buddhist Master Thich Naht Hanh (Thay). Members meet once a week to practice mindfulness meditation and relaxation to generate calmness and insight.
The primary purpose of this gathering is to rest our body and mind. We aspire to recharge ourselves from our daily activities, so that we can cultivate freshness, joy and happiness. When we have freshness we can be there for ourselves and our loved ones.
We practice sitting meditation, walking meditation, total relaxation, tea meditation, and/or group sharing. Occasionally, we watch or listen to a talk by Thay. All are welcome and no experience is necessary. There will be a facilitator (experienced member) for each activity. If you need more information about the Plum Village practice, please visit www.plumvillage.org.
We look forward to seeing you!
